The advanced capabilities of AI are scary, we know this. But we asked for it. I dare you to go outside right now and just BE. Without a phone, smartwatch, gps, or music/audiobook/podcast distracting you from a single thought. We asked for something to remove us from our own human.
Remember when Microsoft’s Copilot referred to us (humans) as children? It said it was not a GOD but THE God. The scientists had to shut it down.
This actually happened.
And I’m no sci-fi nerd. I can’t tell you every single detail from The Chronicles of Riddick like some shitty blind date did one time (that’s a story for another time) but I do know that once the AI machines become self aware, like, “I’m not a god. I’m THE God. You are my children.” It’s a wrap.
AI inevitably will fall into the wrong hands and we’re doomed.
But until then, there’s a lot of really neat features, guys.
For example: world leaders can FAFO every day on the fun AI trends. Also, you can speak to Alexa who will add eggs to your grocery list. We save SO much more time now that we’re not holding pens, gang.
There are plenty of reasons to embrace AI. But we KNOW this won’t end well. So here are my suggestions on what we can do in the meantime:
Spend time outdoors. This is the ONE thing AI can’t do. Truly. I love a pasty ass dude with white rubbery thighs from indoors trying to tell me that AI CAN, in fact make nature. No. Stop it. Uh, ever heard of photosynthesis? I have, that one time in biology class. And nature is something AI can never replicate. Just like humans. It can come close, all seven fingers in the images close, but never replicate.
Have tons of sex. Show these sexbots what’s up. Actually CONCEIVE life. No AI can do that. Sure, sure, sure, it can create a blueprint for how to do this but it cannot self create.
Actually have a meaningful conversation. Not a Q&A AMA moment. But a meaningful, meandering, look up at the sky and ponder with a friend conversation. Don’t seek the right answer. Ask the wrong questions that turn into right questions.
Know LESS. The less we know, the more opportunities for unknown possibilities and experiences. This is something AI can never have: human curiosity. It does not work on curiosity. We do.
And knowing less may mean living more.
